5 critical things parents need to do to safeguard their kids' dreams

We believe that parents play a fundamental role in the learning and development of their children and as such, believe in forging a strong relationship with our learners’ parents. We have identified 5 critical areas that parents should be aware of and focus on to safeguard the dreams of their kids.

LISTEN:

So much can be learned by listening to your child when they speak. Don’t just hear them but actually, listen to what they are saying. Probe them and get them to think deep. By doing so you can often pick up keywords that will give you insight into their hopes, dreams, and desires which often play a key role in what their career choice could be. And one way parents can achieve this is to utilize the EvoMe competency report which provides comprehensive insight on articulated and non-articulated information about your child.

WATCH:

Watch your child intently when they are playing, working at home, or carrying out any activity. See if you can identify any patterns or trends which will give you insight into your child’s future. Do they prefer to read or work in front of the computer, or do they prefer playing with their hands and building things? By having a better understanding you can help steer them in the right direction. To help parents with this essential need, EvoMe’s Competency Profile is the perfect solution. Unlike any other conventional learner reporting system used by traditional education, the Competency Profile is a personalized, comprehensive, and progressive talent-purposed report. Which provides holistic visibility of children’s interests, behavior and performance information to help parents to understand the future of their kids from as early as 3yrs. The active real-time reporting tool consists of a Talent Path (shows the interest & talent path of the child), Skills Base (qualitative skills that influence behavior), Career Map (periodic insights of possible career options relevant to the talent path of the child) and Citizen Readiness (character qualities).

This EvoMe Competency Profile is backed by progressive assessments made by our experienced coaches, and mentors (industry experts and intelligent software analysis system.) Most importantly, parents can get this real-time personalized performance profile report of their kids anytime, on the device.

PARTICIPATE:

Be an active participant in your child’s education by helping them with their learning activities and talking to their trainers. While this sounds like an obvious approach for most parents, this is sadly not often the case. A number of issues can be solved and important decisions can be clearer if the parent has a better understanding of what’s going on in their child’s life. Parents can sign-up their kids for interactive learning activities that are exciting and easy for both the parents and their kids.

ENABLE:

Be an enabler by doing all you can to offer your children the opportunities they require to grow, learn and develop. This does not mean you should spend more money, it means having the right conversations to open certain doors and making the right decisions on which direction to take by being engaged. You will be surprised to learn what options are available for you and your child when you simply ask.

BELIEVE:

As a parent, you have to believe in your child and understand that, like every child, your child has a natural gift that needs nurturing. For some children, this is easier to identify than for others, but often the gift might not be as obvious as it would be to a People Manager or Caregiver.

As a parent, all you need to do is to continue watching, listening, participating, and enabling wherever possible to ensure your child has the best chance at a happy and fulfilling career. The love of parents for their kids is undoubted and their desire to bring out the best of them is unquestionable. The purpose of the EvoMe platform is to give parents an opportunity to discover the inherent talents of their child/s and help them nurture them in their relevant path until they achieve their dreams.
